Named Forbes 30 Under 30 in VC, Sarah Chen-Spellings has been writing multimillion-dollar checks since her 20s—earning a seat on some of the most competitive cap tables globally. She helped launch a $150M corporate venture arm investing across the US-Asia corridor.

Today, Sarah operates at the intersection of capital, innovation, and global markets—backing world-changing founders and is especially trusted by women and emerging wealth holders to drive influence and impact.

I selectively review alternative investment opportunities on behalf of the family offices, philanthropic stewards, and what I call the Modern Matriarchs I advise — women shaping the future of capital through intentional investing and values-aligned giving.

My approach reflects endowment-style investing: disciplined pacing across vintages, durability through cycles, and thoughtful liquidity management — all while aligning capital with purpose.

Areas of Interest:
  • Private funds (growth, venture, buyout, secondaries, private credit)
  • Direct co-investments
  • Real assets & yield-generating alternatives
  • Media, culture & storytelling platforms
  • Innovations that materially improve outcomes for women

What I Look For:
  • Institutional-grade managers (Fund II+, ≥$50M raises)
  • Demonstrated operator track record or cycle-tested excellence
  • Meaningful equity/economics held by at least one woman GP/founder
  • Top-tier anchoring or lead investors

Qualified Financings:
  • Company rounds ≥$5M
  • Funds ≥$50M with institutional pacing discipline
